born and raised in Eadsville, Wayne County, Ky. He
worked on the family farm.
According to his draft card, he was of medium
height and build, had brown eyes and black hair.
He was killed in France, on Oct. 14, 1918. Almost
three years later, his burial took place at Elk
Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne County, Ky., on
Sept. 17, 1921.
In 2008, it was announced that his
name would be inscribed on the War Memorial being
erected in the county seat of Monticello, in front of
the Justice Center on Columbia Avenue.
